It’s no secret Gal Gadot has skyrocketed as an international icon of badassery in the last year following the massive success of Wonder Woman last year. Diana of Themyscira slay the God of War, she slayed the cultural belief that a woman-led superhero film would not succeed.
With a Rotten Tomatoes score of 92%, the film pulled in $412 million domestically and another $409 million abroad. That makes it DC’s greatest financial success to date, and puts Wonder Woman in league with The Force Awakens, Rogue One, and The Hunger Games Trilogy as the top-grossing female-led Action films. (And the highest grossing live-action film directed by a woman! Let’s hear it for Patty Jenkins.)
“There is no right formula, and everybody goes through phases. As a general rule, I surround myself with people I love. I try to do things I enjoy and (that) make me feel better mentally. I spend time with my family, spend time with my friends, and I always try to find some me time,”

A huge part of Wonder Woman’s appeal is the strength she brings to the world. Raised in a society of warrior women, she has no concept of shapeware or being too bulky. All the insecurities we have about our bodies are foreign to Diana, because her body is a thing of power and achievement. She is not on screen to look sexy. She is there to fight and win, not out of violence but out of a desire to protect and build a better world.
(Although, she is undeniably good looking)
Me too, Sameer. Me too.
“I was lucky enough to grow up with a mother who was a gym teacher, so the importance of having someone push me out of my comfort zone and being active – and the benefits of it –were ingrained in me as a young girl. I have found fitness to be a key to unlock self-esteem.”
Gal is now partnered with Reebok – (which is also partnered with Crossfit and the Spartan, two other great loves of my life.)
